ABLETON is a Berlin based company that makes Live, Push and Link — unique software and hardware for music creation and performance. Founded in 1999 with its first release of Live in 2001.
ABLETON products are used by a community of dedicated musicians, sounddesigners, and artists from across the world. Making music isn’t easy. It takes time, effort and learning. But when you’re in the flow, it’s incredibly rewarding.
ABLETON feels the same way about making their products. The driving force behind it all is the passion for the products and the people they’re made for. Most of the 270+ people, from 30 different countries working at the offices in Berlin, Tokyo and Los Angeles, are active musicians, producers, and DJs, and use Live and Push every day. Coming from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds, some of them has PhDs, some are self-taught, and most of them are somewhere in between. What connects them all is the shared belief that each has the skills and knowledge to contribute to something big: helping to shape the future of music culture.
At Futureware we’re proud to be a part of the international ABLETON family and happy to help bringing their vision and wonderful products onto the scandinavian shores.
Computers make it possible for one person to create whole worlds of sound. But instruments are where inspiration comes from. Push is a powerful, expressive instrument that gives you hands-on control of an unlimited palette of sounds, without needing to look at a computer. Whether playing drums or pitched instruments, Push adapts to your musical needs, with great feeling pads and controls that keep you in the flow. Slice beats, play one shots, or mangle samples with warping. Slice samples across the pads, play single hits, or warp long samples so that they always stay in time with your song.
Access all of Live’s devices, your third-party plug-ins, and samples. Use Push to browse, preview, and load your sounds. The color display shows your sample or device parameters, enabling intuitive but powerful sound design from the touch-sensitive encoders. Push lets you record everything you play. Create variations and try out new combinations to play with song structure. Push captures every move you make into musical ideas that you can recombine to create your song.
Get hands-on with your mix using the encoders and adjust levels, pans, and sends with immediate feedback on the display. Push is equally at home in the studio or on stage. Keep your performances in-the-moment by switching between improvising with loops and playing drums, notes, and chords—all from the same expressive grid of pads.
Live is fast, fluid and flexible software for music creation and performance. It comes with effects, instruments, sounds and all kinds of creative features—everything you need to make any kind of music. Create in a traditional linear arrangement, or improvise without the constraints of a timeline in Live’s Session View. Move freely between musical elements and play with ideas, without stopping the music and without breaking your flow.
In Live’s Session View you can freely mix and match musical ideas without the constraints of a timeline. Getting ideas down is lightning fast, and it's the ideal place for improvisation. You can play MIDI and audio loops of different lengths in any combination, without ever stopping the music. The Arrangement View is where you can organize music along a timeline. Put musical parts in place and build sections of your song. Get into the details without losing sight of your musical goals—whether you’re developing an initial idea or arranging a full track. Or you can record everything you do in the Session View into the Arrangement to improvise your way to a finished song.
